At Ben Grogan Performance Horses,  our mission is ho provide top quality training for both horse and rider.  We believe that good horsemanship can yield the best results!  We aim to educate all our clients through the process so they may have the best possible partnership with their horse.

At Ben Grogan Performance Horses we believe in using good horsemanship to yield the best results.  Working with horses is a journey and there are no shortcuts!  All horses are individuals and need to be treated as such.  We enjoy the process of teaching horses and are constantly watching and learning from the horse.  

      Something unique about our story is that I did not grow up with horses. I grew up with my family of 11 in Arvada, Colorado. I didn't get into horses or riding until I found a local Westernaires program, but once I did, the rest is history. One summer, my family and I were in Westcliffe Colorado, and by chance happened to be the same summer Chris Cox was leasing a place up the road. I stopped by just to watch but I started cleaning stalls, and then ended up being invited back to Texas with them for an actual job. I spent 4 years learning from and working for Chris. There I got experience starting colts, being apart of the show horse world, and how to really help people with their horses through clinics and lessons. 

      After those 4 years, I felt confident in my abilities to go out on my own, and that landed me back home in Colorado. I got a job working at the Denver Dumb Friends League - Harmony Equine Center. There I got to use all of the experience I gained from Chris, and many other professionals I got the honor of riding with, to help horses in need find their next and final home. With the high volume of horses that came through that program,  I quickly learned how important treating each horse as an individual was. One training program does not fit every horse, which I still stand by today. 

      It was at Harmony were I met my wife, Kate. She was helping run the day-to-day operations there. It did not take long to realize we made a good team. After a few years there, we found a place to call our own and started training horses for the public. Now, we are blessed as a family of 5, amazing facility in Penrose Colorado, consistently great clients, and talented horses to get to be able to train, ride, and show. We have an open gate and would be happy to help you and your horse with any of your horsemanship goals.
